Pairing

Pairing is the term used to create a permanent link between a bluetooth device and a host device
(in this case a PC/Tablet running Windows).

Pairing only needs to be done once per tablet/PC. Windows will remember the device.

A single 1080 machine can be paired with multiple windows PCs and Tablets at the same time.
It can, however, only be connected to one of them at a time.

The user interface to do so changes with every version of Windows but the general work flow are usually the same

Windows 11

  1. Click the Windows Start button open Settings
  2. In the Settings window that appears, find Bluetooth & Devices (from the menu, or search for it)
  3. (On some windows 11 versions): Under Device Settings set Bluetooth device discovery to Advanced instead of Default.
  4. Make sure bluetooth is On and click Add Device
  5. Search for and click on the name of your 1080 device in the list of Bluetooth devices
