1080 Quantum and Sprint 1 connect over bluetooth while second generation machines Sprint2 and Cable connect
over Wi-Fi or USB-C cable.
NOTE:
A bluetooth machine needs to be paired with the tablet/PC first. See Pairing for details.
A Wi-Fi machine need to be connected to the same network as the tablet/PC.
Both types of machines are connected in a similar way, by using the "Connect to machine" dialog accessible from the
title bar of the application
Bluetooth (Quantum/Sprint 1)
-
Turn the machine on and ensure it is within range of the PC/Tablet. 0-15 meters is best, but under ideal conditions
bluetooth can work fine up to 100m away from the machine -
The dialog that appears will list any bluetooth machines that have been paired to this PC/tablet.
The icons to the right of the machine names represents the following:
- green circle: the machine is connected with bluetooth to the current PC/tablet.
- blue circle: the machine is turned on and within range of the tablet
- gray circle with diagonal line: the machine is not within range, or it is not responding
-
Select your machine anc click Connect. After a few seconds you should be connected.
If the connection attempt fails, just try again. In most cases, the second attempt will succeed
Wi-Fi (Sprint2/Cable)
Make sure "Enable Sprint2/Cable Support" is enabled.
The windows firewall by default prevents 1080 machines from being discovered. The first time you use this dialog
to connect to a Wi-Fi machine, press theConfigure Firewall
button. After successful configuration, restart the application to ensure the new firewall rules are applied correctly.
-
Turn the machine and make sure it is connected to the same network as the PC/Tablet

The dialog will initiate a scan of the local network looking for machines.
If the machine does not appear immediately, press the Refresh button.
- Select the machine and click "Connect". This will send a connection request to the machine that need to be accepted
Once the connection has been accepted and established, the screen should refresh and show
the resistance bar at the bottom allowing you to control loads, modes and speed limits.
USB-C cable (Sprint2/Cable)
When the machine and tablet are connected with a USB-C cable, a private network is automatically setup
between them.
- Turn the machine on and connect the USB-C cable to the tablet and the machine
- Open the "Connect to machine" dialog and select it from the list. If it does not appear, press the "Refresh" button.
- Click "Connect" and the machine should be connected - no need to accept the connection on the machine.
Hint: If the machine is turned on and the USB cable is connected when the tablet software is started, the machine will automatically connect (no need to go through "Connect to machine")
If the machine does not appear in the list, use the Enter Machine IP Address button and enter the IP address of the machine manually: 169.254.255.1
