This is a functionality of the 1080 Motion Web App that provides a post-run movement analysis of a rep.
This tool assumes for each movement that the bottom (valley) of each connected curve is foot contact and
greatest peak (mountain top) is toe off. Movement for each step terminates at the bottom of each valley.
This is considered a movement length or step.
The tool can be opened for a specific run by clicking the L/R Analysis button in the run list.
Tool Functionality
The tool shows a plot of the entire run with a list of steps below. The individual steps are also highlighted on the
plot. If the starting side is unknown, the steps are simply labeled A and B. Otherwise they will be labeled Left/Right
accordingly. Use the controls in the top to change the current start side.
A note about the data shown
The tool first applies a low pass filter on the stored measurements to filter out noise such as line sway and motor oscillations.
This improves the accuracy of the tool but it does make the graphs look different than what is shown in other places
of the application, or in the CSV/Excel exported data. All data and graphs displayed in this tool has been passed through this filtered
Movement List
Column | Description |
---|---|
Side | The side that this movement corresponds to. This all depends on the start side, with each step alternating between left/right |
Peak Force | The peak force found during this movement. |
Movement length | The length of the this movement ("step" in case of running) |
Stride Length | A stride is defined as a full cycle from left to left, or right to right |
Frequency | The current movement frequency in movements per second ("steps per second" for running) |
Further analysis
To look closer at a certain subset of the steps, use the list to select the interesting steps, or use the zoom slider
to narrow down a range.
The selected steps are analyzed and statistics for the two sides are presented to the right of the list.
Preparing an exercise for Left/Right tracking
To get the most out of this functionality, its recommended to turn on the Track Sides functionality on the exercises
where movement tracking will be used.
When this is enabled, the New Run dialog will show a Left/Right making it possible to tag the run with a starting side.
This side will be picked up by the movement analysis as the
