# Understanding Account Structure

#### Understanding Your Account Structure

When you set up a 1080 Motion account, it helps to understand how your account is organised and how access works across the platform. The two diagrams below explain the structure visually — this article walks you through what they mean in plain language.

---

#### The 1080 Motion account hierarchy

At the top of every 1080 Motion account is the **Customer** — this is your company or organisation that holds the annual software license with 1080 Motion. Everything in the platform sits underneath this.

A Customer has two things:

- **One or more Organisations** — where all your training data lives
- **One or more Machines** — the physical 1080 Motion hardware connected to your account (Sprint 1, Sprint 2, Cable, Squat, or Quantum)

> The **Organisation** is the most important concept for new users to understand. It is the container that holds all of your data — your client roster, exercise library, and every session and result ever recorded. Your data belongs to the Organisation, not to any individual user.

#### What does an Organisation contain?

Every Organisation stores three types of data that all users within it can access according to their permission level:

| Data | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Client roster** | All athletes and clients associated with your Organisation |
| **Exercise library** | All exercises, protocols, and training templates |
| **Sessions & results** | All recorded training sessions, force-velocity data, and performance results |

This data is permanent to the Organisation. If a user is removed, the data stays. If a user leaves and is re-added, their access to the same data is restored.

---

#### Users and how they access an Organisation

Individual users — coaches, analysts, and administrators — are added to an Organisation separately. Each user has their own personal login credentials and is granted access through an **Organisation Membership**, which defines their role and what they can do within that Organisation.

There are three roles:

| Role | What they can do |
| --- | --- |
| **Admin** | Manage the Organisation's user list, invite and remove users, assign roles, reset passwords, and perform all Read/Write tasks |
| **Coach** | Perform training sessions, record new data, and view all training data |
| **Analyst** | View training data and perform exports — cannot record new sessions or make changes |

> Only an **Admin** user can manage the user list. If you are setting up your account for the first time, make sure at least one user is assigned the Admin role.

---

#### One user, multiple Organisations

A key feature of the 1080 Motion account system is that a single user login can belong to more than one Organisation at the same time — with a different role in each.

For example, a coach who works across a national team and a club team does not need two separate accounts. They accept an invitation from each Organisation and can switch between them after logging in — all with one email address and one password.

This means:

- Each Organisation's data stays completely separate
- The user's role and permissions can differ between Organisations
- Removing a user from one Organisation does not affect their access to any other

> **Best practice for new accounts:** Set up individual user accounts for every person who needs access. Do not share login credentials. Each person should have their own verified email address and their own Organisation Membership with the appropriate role assigned.

#### Quick reference — setting up your account for the first time

Follow these steps when getting started:

**1.** Contact **support@1080motion.com** once your software license payment is complete — they will create your account.

**2.** Log in to [webapp.1080motion.com](https://webapp.1080motion.com) and verify your email address under **User Profile → Edit Details**.

**3.** Navigate to **User Administration** and invite any additional users who need access to your Organisation.

**4.** Assign each user the appropriate role — **Admin**, **Coach**, or **Analyst** — based on what they need to do.

**5.** Each invited user will receive an email to accept their Organisation Membership and complete their own login setup.
