# Record Change of Direction Run

A change of direction run (or "CoD") is a training form where the athlete performs horizontal movements (running, jumping, skating,...) while also changing direction one or more times during the rep.

In most cases, recording a run is as simple as opening the dialog, move the client to the start position and then press `Start`. The machine will start measuring as soon as the client starts running.

## Dialog Contents

The dialog contains the following

1. **Run-up distance**: The distance the client should run before the start of measurement happens.
2. **End Position**: The offset from the start position where the finish line should be. Negative means behind the client (relative to their start direction).
3. **Min Turns**: Specify the minimum number of turns the client must perform before it will be completed. This is only needed if the client will pass the finish line during the run.
4. **Start Direction**: Specify the direction (assisted or resisted). Can be left in Auto and the machine will figure it out automatically.

See [Change of Direction Training](/v1/docs/cod-training) for more information about these parameters.
