# New Run (CoD)

The *"New Run"* dialog lets you record a new change of direction run for an athlete. It is available from within any Change of Direction exercise.

## Dialog Content

The dialog contains the following

1. Exercise image. For 1080 exercises, these images show how the exercise is performed.
2. Instructions. This includes any custom instructions written in the exercise library as well as a bullet list summarizing the settings (start direction, end position offset, flying start, minimum number of turns)
3. Begin button. Click this when the athlete is in the starting position and ready to go.
4. Modify settings. Often not needed but can be used to tweak one or more of the settings from the exercise type
5. Tape measure button. Click this to open a new dialog that can be used to measure distances in the field (see below)

When **Begin** is pressed, the dialog will start listening to movements and the run will start as soon as the athlete moves far enough and fast enough in the configured direction.

## Tape Measure

The *Tape Measure* is there to assist the setup of markers (turning points, start position, finish line) on the field in preparation before the exercise.

In training, change of direction (COD) refers to the ability to quickly and efficiently alter movement direction while maintaining balance, speed, and control.
