This guide shows you how to attach the end of a Sprint 2 line to a belt, carabiner, or other accessory.
There are several ways to connect the line to your equipment, and not every application requires a Line Safety Loop. We recommend using the attachment method provided by 1080 Motion whenever possible. If that method doesn't suit your current exercise or setup, use your best judgment to choose a secure alternative.
Follow the steps below and refer to the images for clarity.
Step 1 – Tie an Overhand Loop Knot
Start by making an Overhand Loop Knot (also called an Overhand on a Bight) at the end of the cord.
- Fold the cord back on itself to form a U-shape (a bight).
- Tie an overhand knot using the doubled section.
- Leave a small fixed loop at the end of the cord.
This loop will be used to attach the cord securely to the strap.

Step 2 – Attach the Loop to the accessory
Take the loop you just created and attach it to the accessory
- Pass the loop through the intended use accessory (strap, metal double loop, carabiner)
- Feed the accessory back through the yellow loop.
- Pull the strap tight — the loop will cinch around the D-ring, locking the strap in place.

This example uses the same overhand loop knot to attach the metal double loop with a black carabiner attached. The carabiner can be connected to a belt, vest or handle for exercises.

This example shows a carabiner directly connected to the end of the line using the overhand loop knot to cinch the line to the carabiner to improve the feel of moving load.
Optional Finishing Touch
If there is extra cord left over:
- You can cut off the excess length.
- Carefully melt the end with a lighter to prevent fraying.
