# Tablet/Laptop Remote Control Set up

The 1080 Sprint 2 can be remotely controlled when connected via Wi-Fi or USB-C cable with a **Windows 11 tablet or laptop**.

This software is named the 1080 Control App.

Connecting to the 1080 Control App allows local recording and viewing of the speed, force, and power curves that some users prefer over viewing data on the Sprint 2 or Cable screen.

If you want to connect your tablet via USB-C to USB-C cable remove the plastic plug on top of the screen on the machine and insert the cable there.

Typically when you have the USB-C to USB-C cable attached between the tablet and the machine, once you start the 1080 Control app – the Software will automatically connect to the Sprint 2 or Cable

****My machine is not connecting automatically via USB****

If the software does not automatically connect to the machine when the USB-C is inserted or shows up as a device in the list, please click **Enter Machine IP Address** and put in `169.254.255.1`.

****My machine is not showing up in the Wi-Fi list****

If you know your machine and tablet are connected to the same Wi-Fi, but the machine does not show up as a connectable device in your machine list, also enter the IP of the machine. You can find the machine IP if you swipe down on the machine's screen.

| Connection tablet to machine | 2010 (TCP) |
| Probe device discovery (tablet to machine) | 5557 (UDP) |
| Device discovery response (machine to tablet) | 5554 (TCP) |

> Note: On windows, port 5554 may be blocked by the windows firewall. See [Troubleshooting Connectivity](/v1/docs/troubleshooting-connectivity#wifi-sprint-2-cable)
